This site is dedicated to people that are fed up with our rights being taken away to live as we wish. We buy a piece of property in an area that we can accept the laws and rules. Then laws change and allow a new group to change our lifestyles. Conservancy Districts, in their conception, were not intended to be a bad thing. There are pockets of areas in county regions that have a real need for state assistance with severe environmental problems. The problems occur when an area gets paid for by people that live a mile away or better or bring future possible financial burden upon a non-annexed area. Sewer service seems to be a large culprit in many areas to facilitate the creation of a conservancy district. A low level area with sand mounds for septic systems, or lake waters covering yards bringing raw sewage to the surface adding toxicology to a local lake or river. Why should a large group of people a mile away from the area where sewage from septics are floating above ground pay for it? Some laws have been redefined and it is not as easy for a conservancy district to add to its territory. The problems occur with things like “eminent domain”, “easements” and “right of way” of roads. Annexation laws that apply to municipalities do not apply to conservancy districts. During creation it seams that they can pretty much shove anything down your throat. Concept of the need for a Conservancy District: A subdivision that the land is unacceptable for septic drain fields and the sewage is seeping above ground. In this situation the people have a need to get state or federal funding to run a sewer line into the nearby municipality. Problem: How do they run the sewer line to the subdivision without causing the 300 foot law being invoked upon residents outside the area? How do you stop them from installing a low or high pressure line instead of a gravity feed line with lift stations in specific areas? There is never a good ending to the creation of a conservancy district it seems. I know it is impossible to please all of the people ever. However; why must most people be displeased when a conservancy district moves in. We will cover these and other situations on this site. Who to contact, when to fight, where to fight and be timely! |
